Peacemaker – HUM Reduction System for Single Coils

Maximum hum reduction with minimal tonal interference

The Peacemaker was developed for players who want to preserve true single coil tone while drastically reducing HUM noise without turning the pickup into a sterile noiseless system.

Unlike traditional solutions that heavily alter the instrument’s tonal response, the Peacemaker was designed using materials engineering and electromagnetic behavior principles, seeking the best possible balance between noise reduction and tonal preservation.

The result is a system that significantly reduces electrical HUM and external interference while maintaining the natural character, dynamics and feel of true single coil pickups.

The Peacemaker works with virtually any single coil style pickup, including:

  • Stratocaster
  • Telecaster
  • P90
  • Jaguar
  • Jazzmaster
  • and custom projects

Its best performance is achieved with vintage and moderate output pickups, although it can be used in many different configurations.

The system is completely passive and can be activated or bypassed using a push-pull pot or switch.

Each unit is handcrafted in Brazil, combining traditional craftsmanship with a focus on real-world performance, stability and compatibility.

Features

• Passive HUM reduction system
• Minimal tonal interference
• Compatible with pickups from any brand
• Can be switched on/off via push-pull or switch
• Works with Single Coils, P90s and similar pickups
• Handmade Custom Shop construction

Internal Configuration

The Peacemaker features two independent silent coils, allowing multiple installation and configuration possibilities.

Wire identification

Coil 1
• Start: Black
• End: White

Coil 2
• Start: Green
• End: Red

Installation

The Peacemaker must be installed in series with the pickup being silenced.

Since it also works with pickups from other brands, winding direction and polarity may vary. Because of this, the correct wiring orientation must be identified during installation.

The process is simple:

  1. Temporarily connect the pickup HOT wire to the black wire and the white wire to the switch/selector.
  2. If the noise decreases, the wiring is correct.
  3. If the noise increases, simply reverse the black and white wires.

The same procedure can be performed using the second coil.

Important Installation Note

The Peacemaker must be installed in the correct orientation for maximum HUM reduction performance.

A self-adhesive backing is included for mounting inside the guitar control cavity.

Correct orientation

The Pinheiro Pickups logo should:

  • point upward or downward
  • always remain aligned with the pickup magnet direction

Incorrect orientation

If the Peacemaker is installed transversely to the pickups, it is normal to notice:

  • increased noise
  • reduced system efficiency

Verification is simple:

  • if noise decreases → correct orientation
  • if noise increases → rotate the module 90°

Configuration Possibilities

RWRP Systems

(Reverse Wound, Reverse Polarity)

You may use:

  • one coil for bridge and neck pickups
  • and the other coil for the middle pickup

NWNP Systems

(Normal Wound, Normal Polarity)

In most cases, a single coil will already be sufficient.

Maximum noise reduction

Both coils may be connected in series for even greater HUM reduction.

Compatibility

• Stratocaster
• Telecaster
• P90
• Jaguar
• Jazzmaster
• Single Coil pickups in general
